Help your student explore science!

Join your student as they reimagine the world! ISWEEEP wants to assist you in supporting your student’s innovative research. The journey to realizing their dreams starts below.

ISWEEEP is held at the newly remodeled George R. Brown Convention Center in the heart of downtown Houston the first week of May each year and includes an opening and closing rally, judging sessions and a public day where competitors can share their discoveries with Houston’s finest.

Competitors will also tour some of the most engaging and inspiring museums in the world, including Space Center of Houston with the Saturn V rocket, “the largest rocket ever built and operated” at Rocket Park, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

ISWEEEP is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your student to compete. If your student’s project is selected for the competition, ISWEEEP will pay for the lodging expenses for up to two students per project. Any additional competitors or guests will be responsible for their own accommodations.

Non-local competitors will stay in the luxurious Hilton Americas – Houston hotel connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston where they will be housed with another student of their same gender.

Hotel lodging for competitors is reserved when their chaperones submit their travel itinerary. No hotel accommodations will be provided for Houston-area students.

ISWEEEP is not responsible for any travel accommodations, including transportation to and from the airport.

ISWEEEP provides breakfast for competitors and chaperones each day of the event. Lunch is provided for all competitors on Judging Day.

Please ensure your child has adequate funds to provide for the remaining meals as there are multiple restaurant options within walking distance.

Any parent traveling in addition to the chaperone is responsible for their own travel and hotel accommodations. Parents coming to the olympiad as a guest may also room with their student, but must contact ISWEEEP at least two weeks prior to the event.

Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States and home to more than 6 million people whose rich diversity has inspired and built a culture of innovation and exploration. Founded in 1836, Houston hosts some of the most prestigious energy companies in the world with nearly half of all the region’s jobs in the energy industry. This broad spectrum of STEM professionals will give your student access to the leaders of their prospective fields.

Chaperones (Adult Supervisor)

Accompanying a student on their journey to ISWEEEP is a unique opportunity to be inspired yourself! Parents are welcome to accompany their students to the olympiad, but ISWEEEP only provides hotel accommodations for one chaperone (adult supervisor) per project.

If serving as the adult supervisor for student contestents, please submit your travel itinerary through the link below. All chaperones (adult supervisors) will be required to submit a valid Photo I.D. and credit card upon arrival.
